Simba is just like one of the cats from next door called Wally who does the same and is all black. Your parents' garden is lovely and I bet the wildlife loves the pond. Do they grow their own food? If so you may have to harvest some while they are away.
Hello GWRS. Good to know you are still around. Cloudy again in Bristol and we had some rain through the night. There is about a cm. worth in the containers I put out. Every little helps. I will water and feed the tomatoes in the conservatory this morning. Five kinds all giving good crops, including the Red Bodyguard one for Mr. Fothergills trials. I like the name showing how beneficial for health red vegetables can be .Perhaps beetroot and chard should be similarly named. And collections could be marketed as Keep-Fit collections!
It was just drizzle for an hour or so in Bristol but now is more steady rain. I took a few pics - the first of my friend's Cosmos Sonata he brought me plants of to flower is a very cheerful colour and some of my tomatoes needing sunshine now.
Phone rang while I was doing the tomatoes - a booking to give a talk on Oct. 14th. While I was putting it on the calender I realised I have a busy social week this week. Theatre tomorrow night to see "Glory Dazed" and Monty Don at the Botanic Garden next Sunday. Looking forward to both.
It sounds as though you've got a full diary coming up Marion. I hope you enjoy the various activities, as I'm sure you will.
We had snow again last night followed by rain which was heavy enough for us to hear from inside the house. This morning is snow was still on the ground in sheltered spots, as well as on the various hills around us, and distinctively miserable outside, so once again I've not done any gardening. The rain gauge registered 36mm, so that part of it was good, but there is water laying around everywhere on the driveways - no doubt because there was no sun to dry it out. The weather channel reported snow all the way up to Queensland (well, southern Queensland at least), so there were lots of photos of people playing in snow for their first time ever.

The garden may be very wet but the scent from Wm. Shakespeare rose is heavenly.

love the new photos - especially the Cosmos.
Even an old net curtain from the charity shop will be sufficient and cost very little, flumpy.
