Hello everyone. I've been out taking a few photos this morning. It's already getting hot out there and expected to reach 30c. Yesterday was hot too. Hubby planted out the potatoes that I had chittered all winter and that was a job I was glad to have done. (He's learning). The tomato plants that I told you about a few weeks ago, Marion, are still growing on the verandah. There are also pots of Chilli, Tarragon, Sage and parsley happily sitting out there. They get the morning sun, so the site is working out really well.
Dark, damp and dismal this morning in Bristol but still fees warm at 18degrees. What a sudden change for you too Pat - 30degrees already! GG the secret Gardening Club is run from a lavender company based in Yorkshire which offers lots of great bargains from nurseries of plants that need to be sold promto. They do not charge p&p so their prices are very low. The plants come in eco friendly packing as they remove the pots to lower the weight and are in very good nick when they arrive - much bigger than the usual garden centre plants. Members get £40 of garden centre vouchers throughout the year to spend in a garden centre too. There are videos from famous gardeners - Anne Swithenbank last month- who answer members questions, and cut price gifts like gardening gloves and dried flowers. Just google them and apply when they send you an email. They are in touch with you by email weekly. Oh and there are monthly give aways in their raffles.
I didn't think I would after the first month at a pound but I have had so many lovely plants and you get £40 back so I will join when my cheap month is up. You can stop any month you like. There are still large parts of my garden i can clear to fill will new to me plants and I have lots of friends to buy for at Xmas who would appreciate their plants once I have potted them up for them. When some nurseries charge £5.29 for P&p or even more you soon get your monthly sub back.
It's not very often that I post on your thread Marion but always have a peep in to see what you're up to. Your garden and plants are always an inspiration. I couldn't pass by today without saying thank you for the information about the Secret Garden Club. Like Lyn I was unsure about signing up for a year but after doing the maths, without any savings on the plants it works out cheaper than buying a monthly magazine. I'm off to sign up for the £1 month.
Yes you sign up for free GG and then they email you your first offer of plants and if you order you get the offer of being a premium member for a month to try the club for a pound. I am sure you would be very impressed with the quality and range of plants and the service and delivery is excellent too. You get an email to say your plants have been despatched and they are either delivered Royal Mail or DPD who have a splendid tracking service with a map to show you where your plants are in the one hour time slot they email to you.

I had to have a second go at uploading the photos - the Internet is terrible at the moment.

Thank you Marion for the info on the Secret Gardening Club, I have just bought three Shasta Daisy plants.
I don't think I would pay the £72.00 per year though to join.

I am sure you will be very happy with the offers, Lesley. One tip - if you fancy something buy straight away as they sell out quickly.
