I hate this weather, and the chickens aren't mad keen on it either! My back garden is suffering terribly and I have had to put cardboard down in the chicken run to try and dry it up a bit. I can't even realistically get any planting done at the mo
Shocking wind isn't it here Fruitcake? All the tall daffodils are lying face down and my back gate slammed itself shut so hard the bottom panel broke. Supposed to be better after 2oclock. i doubt there will be many Sunday visitors today.
We have to keep driving up the road next to the allotment to check on the tarpaulins over the chicken run. Not very green I know but it's the only place we can get a good view from outside the site and we want to get the girls used to us not popping in 4 or 5 times a day.
In my garden, my palms are blowing crazy and one had blown over time and time again so I have moved it to in front of the shed. I really hope the wind blows itself away very, very soon!
Last session with my lovely doctor this morning who is leaving in two weeks for a stint in our local hospital. She agreed I was right to take myself off the Digoxen pills when the diarrhoea got so troublesome it was like I was in an Ibsen play, moaning "I cannot go on" and said to ring to see a doctor if I had any more rapid heartbeat sessions. But my heart rate this morning was 80 so she was happy to leave it to me to report any adverse signs as there are other medications to try. She also said my urine infection had gone and my cholesterol at 5.1 should be checked in six months to see if my fruit and veg. diet during the summer had brought it down again as she thought it a little high. We bid a fond farewell to each other and I told her I hoped she could come back to our surgery. I had to struggle against the wind to get there but it had calmed a little coming home so I checked on the garden after our high winds yesterday. The barometer had been blown off the garage wall and I picked up an armful of tree branches blown off and dead headed a few daffodils but the pear blossom is breaking in time for Easter!
Three months of Bristol's Year as Green Capital of Europe have gone by without my buying anything for the garden which had to come in the post or involve transport other than walking or be grown using fossil fuel to heat and it looks just beautiful. This month coming up I shall divide lots of my primulas and polyanthus so getting a few more hundred plants for free.
Hi Marion glad to hear your discharged from the doctors now and feeling back to yourself, lovely spring flowers too Marion, it's rain rain rain here.
This is Holcomb Brook Tower Ramsbottom, you can go for a lovely walk up the hill and if you dare you can climb up the stairs inside the tower, but I'm scared of heights
