Thanks Marion I will order some. I love escape to the country, places by the sea, escape to the country home or away, escape to the continent and Grand designs ho and restoration man
Feeling more wintry now so I switched on the heating. I do not think much gardening will be done outdoors today but I could check on the watering in the conservatory and get seeds ready for sowing at the end of the month. when fresh seed compost should be arriving in the shops.
Hi Marion, it's ice cold winds here and it's already tried snowing, just put salt on my path, I just keep dreaming of spring and looking forward to getting back in our garden, your keep well wrapped up Marion, it's going to get colder
Yes, flumpy1, we have weather warnings in Bristol for ice an snow tomorrow morrning so I may have to cancel my dental checkup as my drive is so steep and the pavements and our road do not get gritted as they are not main roads. No good having broken bones if it can be avoided!.
We have a light covering of snow in Bristol this morning but it is melting already and I should be able to get to the dentists and home before the high winds forecast for later in the afternoon arrive. The house was freezing when I woke at seven so I put the heating and the gas fire on. My new orchid is fine as the kitchen is well insulated keeping the temperature there at 60degrees F throughout the night. The conservatory still has unmelted snow on the roof and is just above freezing but nothing looks frosted.
I have just watched the Best British Gardens episode 2 on ITVplayer and the no.1 garden at the end of the program had everything you could imagine and more. They cooked their brisket using their compost heap as a hay box it was so hot inside. I do believe these three programs are the best gardening programs ever . They have enthralled me entirely so far.
Good to see a member living near......I garden in Chepstow across the water from you......No snow here but in the distance on the hills.Roll on the Spring.
I watched Best British Gardens last night Marion, it is quickly becoming my favourite. The last one would be my dream garden and that compost, unbelievably hot.
Glad I popped in to see how your garden is getting on, all those lovely flowers already.
The forecasted winds have not reached Bristol yet so i managed to get to the dentist and do my shopping before they arrived. My clever dentist removed the remains of my broken filling and refilled without the need for an injection so I was out half an hour after with a new filing and a clean and polish. I needed to go shopping as I have to cook tomorrow for my dinner guest on Friday before the Alpine Garden Society meeting when the talk is about plant hunting in the Himalayas. Looking forward to that so hope the storms have eased by then.
