Aww, thank you, 1Runnybeak!. I suit your nom de plume at the moment. The milder weather has arrived as promised and the sun is shining so I will put all my dirty hankies in the washer and try and use tissues for a day till I have a fresh supply of soft cotton hankies again. One of my FB friends sent me some seeds from her white, blue and dark blue agapanthus yesterday so time to get sowing now.
Our Monty Don is coming to the Bristol Univ. Botanic Garden for the day on Sunday July 19th. He is giving two lectures - morning and afternoon and Question and Answer sessions and is staying for lunch and afternoon tea and a tour with hangers on round the Garden. In the meantime I have been out in my garden helping myself to some early tulips for the house - here they are on the lounge mantelpiece.
Well I did have my flower cutting scissors in my hands and their are hundreds of Tete a Tete daffodils flowering now so here they are just in time for tea.
Coughing better this morning and it is much milder and dry and sunny. The green wheeliebin which was only half full (yeogh) has been emptied so I may finish cutting back my neighbour's laurel hedge today and start filling it up again. First there is the task of remembering my eldest daughter's and son in law's birthday which they celebrate together soon!
Those are lovely Marion-my baby Daffs are just starting to open. Rescued a lovely Primrose form the garden centre today-one of those pink ones with lovely frilly petals. It was being sold off, so I had to rescue it!. A bit of deadheading, a drink of water and a nice pot and it is looking nice and fresh. My Fritillary and just starting to push through now as well.
Lovely to hear from you. Linda. It is so satisfying to rescue a doomed plant. Fritillaries are lovely too. I did a little in the garden today but the new medication is taking some time to get accustomed to. More and more blossom every day however and definitely much milder now..
My friend ventured out in the sunshine to send me his version of "Rhapsody in Blue"from his tiny garden and his last amaryllis, a beauty called Appleblossom.
A combination of my rotten cold and new medication has knocked the stuffing out of me so no gardening today despite the mild sunny weather. I shall go out with my camera for some fresh air but I felt I did not have the stamina even to go grocery shopping so have ordered a month's supply online which is coming tomorrow. Loss of appetite is part of the problem so I ordered myself some favourite treats to try and recover it.
