Been out with my camera as we have wall to wall blue sky and the oak trees still have their autumn foliage. Going out to work now as there is so much to do and will not be better weather for doing it in. Should not get too warm in this and have to come in for a rest!
Oh what a delight it was working in the garden this morning. Green wheeliebin is full up and I just gasped with awe at some of the sights. My pink "Generous Gardener " rose is still smelling delicious and has more than a dozen roses in bloom or bud. My tulip tree still has all its leaves and they are turning yellow. My gingko biloba tree is shedding its lovely yellow leaves. Hellebores and hebes are looking good. Even fuchsias and weigelas! Though I have carpets of fallen apples the trees still seem to be laden. A true Garden of Eden this Sunday morning but i have resisted the temptation of too much work and not enough appreciation!
Good evening all hope your all in doors now with a nice hot drink : ).
Lovely pictures Marion, my favourite is the big pink flower, your trees look very high Marion.
Well it wasn't as sunny as the weather man said it would be in the NW, still got plenty leaves to clear up, but that will have to wait until next weekend if it's dry : /,
Are you going anywhere this week Marion? And how is your friend recovering? : )
Oh flumpy nice of you to ask. He is recovering and being sensible and reducing his commitments . His cold is going and he thinks his mucous membrane will heal in time so when that happens he should not be so susceptible to cold bugs. Nothing much on for me this week so should get lots done in the garden.
Awe glad to hear he's getting better and behaving himself : ), well I hope the weather stays dry for you Marion this week, I will be reading your forum on my dinners : ).
My car has got frost on the roof already : /.
I'm just watching Antiques road show, I do like seeing how much things are worth and watching people's reactions : )
Coldest day yet in Bristol. White frost on all the neighbours' lawns. It is only 1 degree now and forecast just to get to 5 this afternoon so I may stay indoors as my heart condition worsens below 6 and over 24 degrees - not that we get that much. The new heater is doing its work in the conservatory and keeping it frost free. But it is dry and sunny and forecast is for a milder night and better tomorrow. Housework calls methinks. That does keep you warm.
Love yesterday's pictures happymarion. sI that big tree in your garden or do you 'borrow' it from a neighbour?
Make the most of the calm weather this week. I've just looked on the BBC weather page and it looks like more gales are to be expected for the next few weeks.
That Scots pine and large oak tree are next door - that is the view from my study window but I have their offspring in my garden and they are nearly as big now! I will take some pics in the conservatory now I have deheaded in there.

The reason why I am not too bothered about not being able to venture out in the garden because of the cold- my conservatory.
