Oooooh I just love carnations! I love the idea of a perfume garden, it must be heavenly, do you have a cosy litt!e seating area in there so that you can sit and enjoy all your hard work Marion
No heating on! Gosh you must come from tough stock!
More seriously, I really do hope the boiler is installed before the chilly weather finally comes calling.
Was also going to ask if your plants arrived safe and sound too.
Lovely photo of the Aquilegia Pat, I have sown some new seeds this year as mine have been up to alot of inter breeding and are loosing some of their lovely colouring.......so some 'fresh blood' is called for I think!!!!
I did not venture out at all in the garden yesterday and no plants arrived so I now have a serious case of withdrawal symptoms as the forecast is for rain all day again today! Ah well there should be some parcels to open today, Aquilegias do their own thing all around my garden too Pat, but they are such a lovely plant. I like flower and foliage. Perhaps the rain will be gone by Monday for Fruitcake's visit.
Hello Marion and Flowers. We're also being inundated with rain here. There have been widespread storms around the country, mostly the east, but too much to list. Our friends who returned to Melbourne yesterday found their garage flooded and the garden a wash out. We've got the fire going again because it's a bit cold. I've been trying to send some more photos, but something is stopping my photos from uploading, I'll need to get Hubby to help.
Yes Marion, we've seen the reports as well. we are even getting a good bit of rain for a change here. It's a bit of a nuisance, even though I'm glad to get it, because I really need to get out there and transplant the vegetables I've been growing in small pots (from my saved seeds).
There is a little story associated with this rose. Many years ago, I was given a potted rose that only had the root stock surviving. The idea was that I could use this root stock to practice grafting other roses on it. Typically, being fully occupied with other chores, I planted it near the farm shed for when I wanted to get on with grafting practice, and that's where it stayed. I really like it, though.

Saw the news flash about tornadoes and heavy rain in the Eastern states, Pat. Melbourne and Victoria seem to have had it bad.
