As it is the allotment I presume you want a winter vegetable,GWRS.  How about some of that delicious Italian winter Kale?  Or a row of new strawberry runners?  Or put in some lovely tulips to bring home for the house?  If you have a long cloche winter lettuce too.

You are very welcome GWRS.  Another fine day for gardening in Bristol and yet another forecast for tomorrow but rain forecast for Wednesday.  As soon as all the Monday morning chores are done I will be up in the perfume garden.  My Sweet William plants are big enough now to be planted out.  The autumn colours in the garden are lovely now so might take out my camera as the light for good pictures is just right - not too bright.

My garden never ceases to amaze me -Iceberg roses with no leaves left but covered in flowers, hypericum covered in berries but beginning to flwer again.  The colours this autumn are amazing.

Lovely coloured viola and the Acer is gorgeous.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Hello, Pat.  Those three are just going over in our gardens in the UK now - at least they are in the Bristol Botanic Garden but not all parts have had the mild weather we have had this October. The dry spell is due to end tonight so I will be working all day in my perfume garden trying to get as many plants in the ground as I can so they can benefit from the rain.
