To me a bud is a flower, even if it is not fully open.
There are masses of camellias in flower down here, great trees of them, sadly todays wind and torrential rain will damage most of them. Apparently there are a few daffodils flowering on roadside banks but I haven't seen any yet.
Correction. My camellias are camellia sasquana, not soulangeii, which always flower in Oct. so are nearly finished now. I discovered this type of camellia when a friend gave me a very sick camellia as a leaving present when I moved to Cornwall. She was convinced I had the ability to resusitate the poor thing. She didn't have a lot of spare cash and found the poor thing in the "hospital corner" of her local GC. Bless it, all it needed was a good drink! It is a single pale pink, quite insignificant really, but it has flowered in Oct. every year for the last 12 yrs. since I was given it. I bought 2 more last year to keep it company, a single white and a double white, both reputed to be scented. Hmm! Well, just a slight perfume.
Meant to put this up yesterday, but got sidetracked when looking up what type of shrub one of them is (still not completely sure). Dont't have many in flower.

I failed to collect any hellebores last year but hope to do better this year. Would you like some?

Hello nutcutlet, maybe someone can identify my shrub from this ?
Viburnum tinus. I don't think it's white enough to be the 'French White' cultivar.
