NYD flower count 2015

nutcutletnutcutlet Posts: 27,445

For recording the number of different plants in flower in the garden on New Year's Day.

Flowering weeds are OK because they're all flowers.

I'm expecting great numbers from Verdunimage

Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
  • Fuchsia & bacopa in a very sheltered corner and a purple bedding verbena left over from the summer, winter jasmine, hellebores, rosemary, winter pansies & violas, wallflowers. I have also got daffodil buds that are starting to bend over ready to open. Really pleased with the way the garden looks.

  • But it's not New Year's Day yet! Wait for it.....

I won't have much as my garden is still covered in snow!

  • Hope the snow does melt, Nut, I'm going on a wild flower hunt on Friday in Peterborough. Have a look at http://bsbipublicity.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/new-year-plant-hunt-2015.html if anyone else fancies it.

We didn't have any snow landgirl, It stopped just our side of Stamford. I've had a quick look at your link but haven't found details for the Peterborough event. I'll have a deeper probe though

Not much to report from me I'm afraid!

Violas, cyclamen and a shrub but can't for the life of me think of its name! It will come to me later I'm sure!

Rose. Cerinthe, Primroses, Kerria Japonica and Hellebores in my garden.  Would have had a dandelion but I dug it up yesterday.

It was -8° and white with frost this morning, hope it defrosts enough to find flowers this afternoon, but not expecting much.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
