..I know..I do it all the time...especially at this time of year when we tend to make plans...
Beaus Mum.... yes I have a rose or two in mind, but probably Austin's English roses... I might have found an alternative and much cheaper... metal trellises without the arch bit, 2 the same one each side of my path entrance to my rose garden, rather like an open doorway leading you in.... they are 6 foot tall but I would lose a foot with cementing in... but that's ok... I shall think on this overnight...I'm terribly excited...
..my husband has given me some money as an early Christmas present and I want to get in quick...lol..
..yes I've also made my own in the past...from treated timber though..and easy to do...something quite personalised about that...
..Edd..thank you for alerting me... strangely it appears to be the same company yet cheaper....
..I'm still pondering...I do love that arch and one or two others besides that are similar...but the width is a problem...and I have found they're not too sturdy unless you have good width....(ooh..that sounds naughty...sorry)...
Obelisks have also come into it now....I could fit in two of these quite easily without any hassle....one on each side....
we have about 4 acres of young ( about 10 years old ) woodland. Last year I set the mower up high and cut the fallen leaves / grass and filled up builders Dumpy Sacks ( about 1m cubed) and left them for the winter. In Spring it had produced the most wonderful compost. We had sheep in there for a couple of months, so hopefully there's some poo left on the surface to add to the mix. That's what I've got left to do this season.
..yes, thank you for asking...in the end I really couldn't get that arch in, no matter which way I measured, so I bought two nice big obelisks instead from that company, and I must recommend them as I ordered on Tuesday evening and they arrived Thursday morning, and no delivery charges... very well packed too..
...I had seen the same obelisks in a garden centre at £12 more each... so I got quite a saving online there...
...I'm just waiting for my Austin roses before I set them up...
