..I'm afraid I disagree..somewhat vehemently... in this series I am finding her to be patronising and overbearing...and often quite irritating... and she does come across as a know it all...she couldn't stop reminding us...3 times in fact that the curator of Hyde Hall was a ''former student''... and at Hidcote she treated the curator there as if he was some junior gardener...it's a bit embarrassing to be honest...

..christ..I couldn't work with her... however, I'm sure she's terribly nice in other ways...and probably doesn't mean to appear that way...

I have to agree with you Salino. I haven't posted on this thread as I haven't watched the programmes - I don't like the woman at all. Each to their own eh? image

I was never keen on Christine until this programme. I now find her cheerful and down to earth and have changed my mind. It's a lovely programme. When she says "former student" I think she's just delighted that her student has succeeded for his sake, not because she's a know it all.

Verdun, if you bought more Felco secateurs you wouldn't have to replace them every year, unless you lost them of course! I have 3 pairs and one is over 30 years old. You can order parts, like the spring thingy, online.

I think Geoff Hamilton introduced her originally...she was quite demure in those days...

...just for some balance, there are elements to this series that I do enjoy having watched 4 episodes so far, especially the historical potted histories given with each property and some interviews with descendants of the original owners... the rare interview with Beth Chatto was very good...and with local project groups... but as is often the case, I've yet to see a plant name appear on screen....  so, very much for the afternoon audience I suppose...
