Hi clarington I've been lucky enough to get 2 allotments together they were both in such a state that nobody else wanted them . Took a bit of graft but I'm more than happy with what we have done . I'm no expert in gardening but we love it .

    Thanks

You're turning into an expert, Baz.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Hello Everyone

Just been up to the garden after missing 2 days due to work .Was worried about tomatoes not getting watered but they were fine .It was our sunflowers ,they took a battering today in gusty winds and i have lost 2 big ones .NOT HAPPY

Have you tried cellotaping or taping the stems? I do that when something kinks over and it usually works.

Hia Norwin i had them all tied up with twine but it wasn't strong enough too hold them so i've swapped it with tougher string which should hold them.Hopefully

    Thanks

And even though we had a disaster with some of the sunflowers i'm more than happy how they have turned out.

Expect there are many casualties from the wind in gardens and allotments across the country :-(

Expect there are also many homes with vases of Sunflowers too!

I fully expected to loose some Sunflowers in the strong winds - luckily they survived but my Verbena B took a battering and lost some stems.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
