Forgot to mention on this thread we have some sorry loads of new visitors in our allotment
TREE BEES have decided to live in one of our bird boxes
You can't really tell on the photo but there is loads of them flying round the entrance and the entrance itself is jammed all you can see is black and yellow butts sticking out.And yes that's as close as i'm gonna get he he . Dovefromabove gave me a link to check it out and after reading it i'm gonna let them stay. It'll be fill ya boots lads when the sunflowers burst into life.
Hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine like me and Hels have but we really could do with a bit of rain can't believe I just said that but our water barrels are really low and need topping up . Having said that everything is growing really well as we are watering every night.
Have a look
Petunia tower is really coming on
Flowers are growing on getting bigger by the day
Still loads to do a lot of these will be for Helens hanging baskets
Sunflowers seem to be hit and miss at the minute some doing well others struggling don't know why??
Cabbages colis brocholi sprouts doing well
Sweetcorn and beetroot doing ok
We are hoping to get strawberrys this year as last year we got very few but there has been loads of flowers on all of the plants so heres hoping
We had a storm pass through today and the hail that came out of it has damaged a lot of plants part of the petunia tower has lost a few plants making it look bare . Turnips and cabbages have had leaves split and look like they have been stood on .
Anyone know if they will come back or does it look like we have lost them
Baz, I love your planters and the Petunia stack-they seem to be coming along very nicely. I have a planter with Strawberries-the fruit is just beginning to form
Thanks scroggin we will keep an eye on them fingers crossed they'll be ok
And thanks Linda i have a few petunias left so i will replug the side that got damaged in the storm . I made all the planters from scrap wood i get from work and we think they will look the part when the flowers bloom
Just popped up to the garden , before I start my 12 hour shift booo, just to see how things are and voila
we have our first clematis flower
We hope this plant grows on well now
Also we had this little robin singing away I think he was telling me to get digging so he can have some worms for breakfast he he
For those of you who follow this thread you know I love my tatties coming through planted 116 this year and everyone has come through getttt in there he he . Also you can see the sunflowers on the left starting to grow . I have to say I was a bit worried about them but i'd say 95% are starting to get some height.

Pleased I had petunias to replug the damage to one side
Cabbages got shreaded off the hail but are now recovering
Turnips got the worst of the storm they really took a battering but like the cabbages are now recovering
