Oh Susan! What an experience for you and your family. Have heard of this happening and hope it gave you comfort that your husband came home.

I don't think it was him coming back - I think it was his 'influence' over your life leaving for good image

    I don't believe in 'spirits'.

  • Sorry Susan, really didn't mean to cause upset. I just thought ( not knowing the circumstances) that it could bring comfort IF that's what you WANTED it to do, more hugs

  • I'm an atheist and I've never had any experience with the supernatural, though I do love a good scary/ghost story image
  • Yes definitely, I would be quite frightened also.

That must have been very emotional for you Susan, not to mention frightening.

OK I'm going to mention here something that happened earlier this year. I'm not given to flights of fancy but have not been able to find a reasonable explanation for it.

One evening last March I climbed the stairs to visit the conveniences. On nearing the landing I heard little footsteps following me closely and turned round fully expecting to see Robbie our border terrier. He wasn't there so I thought no more of it. Later that evening as I was going up the stairs again I heard the same thing and instinctively turned.

Once again nothing. Thinking this odd, I went to the foot of the stairs and walked up again, trying to recreate the sound. I did this maybe 4 or 5 times but no sound of a pet following me. A while later my 16 year old daughter reminded me it was 3 years that day that we lost Scamp, our first border terrier. I hadn't noticed the date, 12th March.

Now I actually feel slightly embarrassed typing this up even though I started this thread. I look for logical explanations but can find none. Did I imagine it? Did I subconsciously register the date and create these sounds in my own mind? I just don't know.
