I would just like to say something regarding these innocent "doggies" that have been mentioned
My stepfather who is in his 70's was cutting his hedge recently when some people taking a walk stopped to say hello. Their "doggie" rottweiler attacked my stepfather without any provocation and bit his arm down to the bone.
He dashed inside to call my Mam and get assistance. The people did a runner with their "doggie". My stepfather spent several days in hospital and nearly died from blood poisoning. Unfortunately the police haven't caught up with them.
I only hope these people don't suffer the same fate and they keep their "doggie" away from human beings in future.
Firstly I hope that your stepfather is on the road to recovery,I send you and your family my greatest regrets that this happened. Please would you keep me informed of his health due to this wicked incident.
I would hope a good description could be given to the police which does leed to them being caught up with.
I would like you to know that I for one, the one who started this thread through a simple question have had a complete turn around with my thoughts and towards even what happened my friend .I do see some fault lies with her ,the more details that have come out there is room for improvement.
Again I hope your dear stepfather is alright and can get on with his life without further problems related to this dreadfull unprovoked attack.
Gran, thank you for your concern. He is out of the woods with this injury and we were quite worried for some time. He does have health issues to begin with and these were only exacerbated with the dog incident.
Despite CCTV footage the police have been unable to find these people. You would think that after a lifetime of hard work you would be able to enjoy retirement and do a wee bit of gardening without being attacked on your own property!
We are a family of dog lovers and my Mam and Stepdad have not long lost their beloved pet. We can only hope this type of incident doesn't happen again with the same animal/owners, particularly the vulnerable.
KS , I like others know the grief of losing your beloved pet.an animal that is loved so much and is more than just an animal but a part of the family. Our pets give us so much joy and easily become a big part of our everyday life .we do our best for them and I'm sure they know they are loved,
losing them leaves such a huge gap in our lives , our pets are not forgotten , over a period of time you and your family will dwell on the happy memories
My thoughts are with you and your family, take care
