I come from one gypsy and one Irish Grandmother, one never went to school, and I hardly ever went, the other in service at 13, they are important to me, I am important to my family, my degree in horticulture (not!)makes me important to the forum and I try to answer questions honestly.
I know I will never be as clever or as funny as Verdun, I mean, how can anyone be more cleverererer than a Cornish man. By the way, Verdun ,you may be having Jethro back, he's sold up from here!
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
No, Runnybeak and cangrandma I most certainly wasn't dropping hints to you. You are both lovely. My punctuation isn't brilliant but I try never to post until I've read it through and reads OK.
A month ago Verdun, I was on holiday in France on my way down to the mediterranean and was thinking good thoughts about you as I sat in a lovely square, admiring all the flowers. Reason for those thoughts was the name of the square - Plaza Verdun. So, any French blood in your family?
I believe the reason for Verdun's name is that some of his family's blood was left in France - and the Plaza you saw would have been named to commemorate the battle and lives lost in the small French town of Verdun on behalf of us all.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove, never heard of the place, Verdun, before. Just read about the horrendous battle. Also never come across anyone called Verdun before - what a gem he is!!

A great privilege Verdun
In the sticks near Peterborough
You are ALL very important to me - didn't used to have any gardening friends .....now I have loads

I think Verdun has been growing a variety of common hemp and standing too close to the bonfire.

I'm important to the forum as this place needs someone to hoover up all the bamboo that people remove from their gardens
