"Now we're all going to be thinking back and wondering which one you were .......... in fact, I did notice someone looking at us a bit oddly .............. "
I was the bearded guy in the grey peaked hat and blue waterproof jacket - probably walking around with an uncertain look on his face!
Re purchases, I didn't see much I wanted to buy but then these three mauve/purple ones called Penstemon Pensham 'Czar' caught my eye @ £3.95 each.
I then went back and found this Dahlia 'Sarah' @ £3.50.
I thought for less than £16 in all that lot seemed to be good value.
For the moment I've given them temporary residence with my begonias until I find a suitable spot to bed them out.
Being rather shy and retiring I would have found that a bit too demonstrative i think. I'm also not sure it wasn't too late in the year, what with the soggy ground and all, to be rushed from all sides by five enthusiastic gardening ladies - not of course that the thought is totally without its attractions!

Always room for another one!

You should've stood in the middle there and shouted Nut! Dove! Panda! Snoodle! and then rounded it all off with Topbird! We'd have all come running!!!
We had plenty of picnic to spare ....
Those are lovely penstemons

We're all very shy and retiring Birdy - but we come out of our shells occasionally to mix with gardeners and cooks

Dove, you forgot me
He could have shouted Artjak too.
Dove forgot you artjak. That's terrible.
It must be because you're shy and retiring like the rest of us
