Good on you Dave, I feel the same way, and it's really nice to be able vent your feelings and get support on this site. Gardening is still my greatest pleasure.
Dave I'm sorry to hear about your experience and you rightly deserve to have a rant. On a lesser scale some time ago I spent two hours on my hands and knees digging weeds out of an overgrown border, when the tree lollipop man ( my bro) appeared he informed me he wouldn't employ me if it took me that long to pull up a few weeds
Dave, that sucks. Some people just try to show they know better than anyone else, don't they. It reminded me of when I was helping out at a charity stall, selling hot drinks for a £1 each - most people were very nice, but one man demanded that we fill his mug "properly" - he was clearly too "smart" to be "shortchanged" for his pound and at a charity event to boot! Which is nowhere near what you were subjected to with your client, of course, but I think it illustrates the same attitude. Sod the lot of them! You've shown you are a professional by the way you handled it and should the client come back begging for your help once he's gone through all available gardening pros in the area, you'll charge him at least a triple fee for being a pain in the a--!

And the reason he hadn't spent a few minutes doing the weeding was ...............???

KEF,
Kef, there is a reason why charity boxes get chained to a till. Certain people just cant resist it.
