I think the 'low feeling' is probably related to your low iron levels rather than the tablets themselves - it can take quite a while for iron tablets to have the required effect. Treat yourself gently ((hugs)) and if you still feel rotten in a little while then tell the doctor - it's what they're for
Hmmm just a thought - have you had your thyroid levels checked?

Iron tablets give a lot of people Indigestion and constipation. They are recommended to be taken after food, and vitamin C helps absorption, so a glass of orange juice will help, to wash it down with. It may take six to eight weeks for your blood iron levels to come back up. The doc should do another blood test then.
Different formulations are available, a liquid form, and Ferrous sulphate, Ferous fumarate and ferrous gluconate tablets. Some formulations are tolerated better than others, but its a case of trying them to see.
Edd sorry to hear about your wife. I had a similar experience about 2 years ago. I was very worried and didn't tell anyone not even hubby. It turned out to be nothing and the relief was immense.
Dove's advice is spot on (as usual). Take each day as it comes and try not to allow panic to overwhelm you. Concentrate on today and try to support each other.
I thought it was an age thing but it turned out to be very underactive thyroid - I had several thyroid level tests which all came back 'within normal range' but then it went right down - so much better now

I was prescribed iron tablets years ago when I was pregnant. I had fainted in Church and the doctor thought I was anaemic. But I felt so rotten on them I had to stop taking them. Turned out I have a naturally low blood pressure which went even lower when pregnant.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Hope all goes well Edd. Will be thinking of you both. Best wishes and hugs x
Keep fussing over her Edd. She may say she doesn't want it, but we all like to be fussed over sometimes.
Very true Fidget.
