I'm so sorry about your cat, Hogweed. I've lost 2 cats in the last 10 years and my dog has cancer and will be 13 in December. Animals are good friends.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Every time I lose a pet I say...that's it, no more, ...... but of course I do, you will miss your pets but they will always be in your heart. It takes a long time as well, just when it's going out of your mind, something will remind you, and there's nothing wrong with that, take all the time you want to grieve, it doesn't matter.
i still look at where my snails tank was, now an open space. We can be very emotional when it comes to animals.
i have a small piece of fur/hair, from all of my lost animals, somehow it brings me to think I still have a part of them with me.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Sorry to hear Hogweed. It does get better with time and I am sure it was the right thing to do. Remember in future that if you do decide that you want another cat, you are never replacing, just helping to fill that cat spaced void that the loss of a pet leaves.
So sorry for you Hogweed, I really can feel your pain. Especially hard when you are on your own too. Nothing we can say really to make it better, just know you are in our thoughts. Just try & focus on what a good life you gave him, nothing can take that away from him.
We must be doing the commercial world of Kleenex a world of good this week.

So sorry to hear about your cat Hogweed, they are so very special and most definitely family. They leave a hole that is hard to fill. Try and remember the happy times. xxx
So sorry to hear of your kids Hogweed. We lasted a week without a cat when ours was put to sleep, the house felt it was missing a family member! Your never replacing, just giving another cat the same opportunity to have a loving home and companion! Big hugs!

That's right, as Steve says. The new pet will also be a loved pet, a new personality and friend in it's own right, not a replacement.
