Lizzie , my thoughts of sadness are with your poor friends , so terrible .
As chicky says there's no words, it's terrible .
And to David too , must have been such a shock , poor poor families.
I've followed this all day and couldn't think what to say.
Words fail me.
Trust me: many folk thought they'd never hear me say this.
I can't even begin to think what you're going through.
My thoughts go out to you and the family of that young girl. and indeed ,still, to you Verdun.
To find that two people on our forum have been affected by dear ones being murdered seems unreal to me. Hugs David & Lizzie.
Verdun still thinking about you along with others who are having distressing times.
A friend of mines son was murdered in Brighton a few years ago. He had not long had the all clear from a 4yr battle of Leukemia. Such very sad times.
People say they're Sorry
And they mean it from the heart ,
But to understand your heartache
They couldn't even start.
To have a loss like you have had
Is too much to understand ,
We see it and we feel for you
But it's only second hand .
You are the one who is suffering
And we're the ones who care.
But if there's anything we can do
Call us , and if possible we 'll be there.
Gran that is lovely, nothing that I can add.
Lovely poem Granma.
It puts into words what we cannot say.

Thanks, KEF...though with hindsight I wished I hadn't bothered adding my post.
I don't think that's a problem David - it's human nature to try to find a shared experience in order to show empathy
