Your poor mum, verdun, she must wonder what is going on in her head. Do the nurses think that is what is to be expected from her, or is there an underlying problem, I havent read all the posts on here but it sounds so sad for everyone concerned.
My mum is still in hospitsl, thats about 10days now, I am expecting them to say bladder cancer, but she seems so well in herself, just cant pee because of an obsruction. We will know in 2 weeks time, when they have diagnosed from the biopsy.

Thank you, I just cant think what else it could possibly be obstructing like that. Mum is quite prepared for them to say they will remove the bladder, she already has a stoma, she says another bag wont make any diference, I just hope she can stay that positive, she is brilliant for 86.
Dad is coping very well now, cooks a breakfast every day and at the moment has a tomato sandwich every day for lunch because we have a glut!

Verdun - it's amazing how much trouble a bladder infection can cause - Ma gets very confused and anxious (and sometimes angry) when she has one. The care staff now recognise the signs and make sure she takes enough liquid on board and gets her pee tested asap - a few days of antibiotics and she's as right as rain again (or as right as she'll ever be).
Your mum has been in hospital and that's not always the best place for the elderly - the staff don't have the time to make sure that the elderly confused are drinking enough liquid, and also don't know the patients well enough to recognise the changes in mood that might indicate a UTI.
Fingers crossed that things settle down soon ((hugs)).
Hope Mrs Fishy is ok now, and that Lyn's mum's prognosis is good and that her dad continues to cope so well.

So sorry to hear that Verdun, that has to be such a lot for you to deal with. Hopefully the situation can be resolved quickly.
Lyn - hoping your Mum can get sorted out asap and home again.
Thank you Dove,Mrs F is a bit better now. There seems to be so much pain and suffering in the world sometimes but at least here we can share our thoughts and know we're not alone.
Sorry Verdun I didn't see your post last night. Agree with Dove the home will get to know your mums needs better and hopefully can make sure things improve for your mum. Thinking of you both, very best wishes xx
Verd, Lyn and Fishy - I can't really add any more to what others have already said, but I just want to say - Verd - I hope things can be resolved for your mum and you can feel happier with the whole situation. Lyn, I hope the results are good news for you and Mum. Your Dad sounds like is he is staying positive which is a great help.
Fishy - glad MrsF is feeling better
