Verdun, with you in my thoughts, it is not easy we have to be strong.
Matty, I saw the Doctor Monday for the final talk after the trauma in August, passed fully fit, they will call me back for checks for a couple of years but it is over. They know what they do and there is light at the end of the tunnel, we can and do get over these things.
It's the uncertainty that is getting me down - I just need to know what is going to be done
Verdun, thoughts are with you. Was in that 'place ' end of last year beginning of this so I sympathise. I found being cheerful with her helped,(me as well) and had the sadness and helplessness out of her sight. x
Glad there are no major complications for Mrs Fishy
Matty I can understand how you feel with the situation you are in. Once you know exactly what you are dealing with it is easier to be positive. Everyone's rooting for you. Hugs.
Verdun I really hope your Mum is feeling better today. I'm thinking of you.
Hope things as getting a bit better for you Fidget. It's the last thing you all needed. Your Mum can't have caught up on any sleep
Thinking of you and your family Lyn.
Lily I was wondering how your friend and daughter are managing?
Mum seems to be quite good really, they have both got over the chest infections, although mum is still 'chesty'but loose.
When we came back from the hospital they told us weeks, not months, we expected awful things to happen very quickly but she is eating well, she's a bit wobbly on her feet but thats because she sits all the time! Dad is doing well, he makes her tea and coffee, I do all the meals and the laundry and shopping.
We have the bedtime routine off to an art now, night bags on, change of clothes, done!
Last week I had a day out, it was nice to get away for a few hours.

They can provide a trained carer to come and sit with and take care of your loved one while you take a break, get your hair done, go shopping, to the theatre etc.
If you need more support please contact them. They're lovely people

LesleyK indeed good news and also a laugh, the Doctor earned his keep with his test for dementia, well I am long in the tooth. He gave me an address to memorise then the usual count back from twenty then the months back from December so I gave him "rebmeced" then knocked them off in quick style, the address again then more questions then the address again, I trotted it out and he said no, North Street not West, Whoa up there Doctor I have already told you west street three times, Mmmm says he you are probably right, my memory is slipping a bit. I burst out laughing we both did but he did not share his £55 with me? I cannot complain he was the one who twigged the problem I was having and fast tracked me, a life saver and I thanked him.
