I'm hoping your morning hasn't been too stressful Verdun.

A phone call from my Dad this morning, he was due to leave for France today for a three day tour of the war cemeteries. But because of a hospital stay earlier this week he hasn't gone. I did wonder if it was too much too soon and at 85 he needs some more rest I think.

Obviously he's disappointed and sounded quite down on the phone image But I did worry it might be upsetting for him, his Dad was at the Somme and was in and out of psychiatric hospital for the rest of his life with shell shock.

If you're looking in Stacey, just wondered how you are. Hope you're ok. Sending very best wishes and hugs xx Hope LO is well too x

  • Lily, I think Stacey looks after her own Facebook page for her sauces, if she does then she has been about and seems well planning new sauces. I will text you tomorrow x

I thought I would bring this thread to the top for our newbies, I found it very helpful, the kindness of people is overwhelming.

My giant African Land Snail has died, silly really but I am going to miss him.

Thanks Lyn, I am new to the forum and didn't know about this thread.  I  have have read through it and actually find it strange that there are people like me out there.  I gave up work 10yrs ago to look after bith my elderly parents, my father passed away 5yrs ago and now I look after my mum fulltime.  She has a panic attack if I leave the house but the garden is ok if I take a listening device so that she can call me. Watching plants grow, potting on etc and the peace of the garden is what keeps me going and finding this forum with people who don't find it odd that I love gardening is a relief.  When she is sure I am the worst person in the world there are a few plants that get the slash and burn treatment, the latest was a potentillaimage.

Sometimes we all just need to know we're not the only one with problems in our lives.

The garden has always been my therapist oh and the odd malt whisky
