Fidget I'm glad Mum will get some sleep and maybe ask if  they will do a mental assessment and he might stay in longer and eat & drink as directed. Hugs x

I've even threatened Anglian with charging them £10 a call for wasting my time. It slowed them down for a bit , but telephone preference service   doesn't stop the random diallers, the Indian microsoft scam etc.

They did a mental state assessment on Monday. It went fine until Dad got bored with it. test for stroke, raise eyebrows, screw up eyes etc, resulted in a glare, he did do the tongue sticking out bit.

    Ho hum.

Fidget, Dad can't be discharged if  hospital are informed that there isn't anyone at home to look after him and the house is unoccupied, if Mum is elsewhere having the rest & sleep she much needs then he will have to stay in or go into respite. Good luck x

Fidget - that has to be very distressing and my heart goes out to you. Well done on the cold callers though, there's few things more irritating than a pointless phone call when you're already under a lot of stress.

Not family as such but a good friend of my step daughter is in hospital with a blood clot on the brain. She's 25 I think. I've met her on a number of occasions and she has come shopping with us a few times. Life just isn't fair, she's too young.

I haven't been here since I've been family visiting in England, but looked in to give good news about BIL who had ruptured aorta. He has made incredible progress since the operation and is now at home, feels very tired though and lost a lot of weight. He was already slim and fit, Docs said that helped. In his 70s.

Have looked back and seen Matty has told you her news. Matty is a friend, our thoughts have been with her a lot recently.

I'm so sorry about your Dad, Fidget.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • So glad  to hear your BIL is on the mend Busy Liz best wishes and hugs x

My very best wishes to all poorly people and their families. xx
