Verdun - reading your post has made me angry for you. That is utterly disgraceful, porridge gone cold and served as her lunch?? You wouldn't treat a dog like that. What is it with care homes? Because someone is old, does that somehow make them less human??

Doesn't sound a very good home, I hope they improve and make the changes. Didn't you say you were looking for a new home? How worrying for you.

  • Verdun that is absolutely awful - I'm horrified - such a different experience from the home where my parents are cared for.  The care they are given is better than I could give them and the staff really care about their welfare.  It is only a small home and not anything like as expensive as some - good care isn't about money it's about attitude.  And the standards have to be set from the top down!

Good luck with getting the right care for your mum - whether it's where she is or in another place.

Verdun I am so sorry to hear what so called care you Mum is receiving, hard enough for you to come to terms with the changes in your Mum without all this additional pressure and upset.

I so hope you can find a different home, a care home for you Mum. xx

I have been trying to catch up on housework, mine and parents, thats a job on its own!
