SGL - so sorry to hear that. I'm on beta blockers for anxiety. They are generally problem free medications I've found and hopefully will be for your friend's daughter.

Mike - that's great news!! I'm very happy for you image

Mrs F had the results from her biopsy. They think her diabetes has caused fatty infiltration of the liver. This led to the enlargement because it caused inflammation which in turn resulted in scarring. However, seeing the nurse this week, she said her diabetes looked under control, which I don't quite get. Anyway they now want to do a gastroscopy.

  • Thank you Fishy. Hopefully the medication won't be perminant.

Hope Mrs Fishy is keeping well too, my best wishes and hugs x

Fishy, sorry to hear about Mrs fish hope she is feeling better, diabetes , it tales some understanding at times.

SGL your poor friend and her daughter ,at least your friends daughter is in the right place and probably getting looked after as she needs to be.it's easy to forget to look after yourself properly in these situations.hopefully she will get some rest while she is in hospital while mum continues to make a good recovery.

And Mike, last but not least that is such a big relief for you , for us too as your friends.I'm so happy  ,a weight has lifted from not only your shoulders but your daughters too.take care everyone and look after yourselves.

Dads catheter fell out again, while I was away. Urology nurse and doctor couldnt get it back in,so they had to take him into theatre to do it.His blood pressure dropped alarmingly, so they kept him in a couple of days but now he is home. He is having an op on a spine block on Wednesday to blast the bladder stones that keep causing the problems with the catheter. They wont do the op to resect his prostate because it requires a general anaesthetic and he's not strong enough  for it.

It seems that every time he goes in the hospital he comes out weaker, more depressed, and now is losing weight because he wont eat enough. The doctor finally agreed that he could have some fortisip on the NHS. Previously Mum was paying for it.

I dont know how people go on, if they dont have anyone to speak up for them.
