Hi Lyn - have just caught up with your sad news. What an amazing fight your mum put up - but hardly surprising knowing her incredible daughter was by her side throughout - your story has reduced me to tears at times. It's now time for you to give yourself a little space & a lot of TLC.

Best wishes to you, your father & the rest of your family x

Thank you everyone, I do feel a great sense of relief, and for dad as well.

Funeral is next Wednesday, very small do, just family.

Dove, so very sorry to hear your sad news. Thinking of you and your family at this very sad time. Hope Ma is ok, she must be very upset and confused.

So glad it was peaceful for your Pa.

My very best wishes, love and hugs. Lily xx

The Lovely Home phoned me about 8pm saying he'd suddenly gone downhill - I phoned my brother then OH and I drove down to Southwold, but it's an hour's drive from here and Pa died about 8.20 - one of the senior carers had been sitting with him holding his hand and talking to him and he just slipped awayimage He'd been fine earlier, enjoyed his soup for supper and the staff had talked with him about stuff in the local paper, then suddenly went pale and .......

Brother and I are both so relieved that he's out of pain - his legs aren't cramping and twitching now and he won't see Ma get any worse. He's been ready to go for such a long time...

Brother and I will see Ma tomorrow morning and try to explain what's happened.  She'd been quite confused earlier and had asked to go to bed early, so she's not aware of events.

Oh Dove, how very sad, but at least he didn't suffer and it was peaceful.  How lovely the carer sat with him. Hope your Ma is ok and not too confused when you see her in the morning. Thinking of you, lots of love xx
