GWF Day Out: The Beth Chatto Gardens, Colchester: Sunday 10 Aug

  • Train is 1 hr 10 to stowmarket and then it'll be about another hour by car to Colchester train station and then beth chatto.  So even with traffic, car should be quicker.  And dove won't have to find way to norwich train station.  And can buy plants (real reason!)

  • So, Dove, how about I aim for 930 pick up and we should get to BC soon after 11, if good traffic.

That sounds great Top Bird, thanks image It's an easy peasy station for me to get to so when ever you want me there it should be fine image

Panda - Which station will you be coming into (ie bus or which rail station)?

It looks as tho' Snoodle and Dove will be at BC's abt 11 - 11.15 (assuming no plant distractions on the way!) - so -  is there an arrival time between 10.30 & 11.00 you can make?

Will PM you my phone no a bit later so we can keep in touch if necessary on the day.

  • Yeys!  Excited too!  Weather looks a bit damp but sure we'll still have fun.

(Can't look any sillier than I did this morning.  Forgot my coat so sat in car park watching torrential rain.  Eventually gave up and walked to office wearing hubbies sun hat that I found in the back, with my work shirt and skirt attire, getting drenched.)

    Anyone else fancy joining us?

TB, I can aim for either Colchester train stations, but will have more choice with the main one re times than the Colchester Town one. Also think the main one will have better parking options and is more on the way image

I can get to Colchester main station for either 10.13 or 10.37 - let me know which you prefer and I'll get whichever one image

    Thanks btw image

Snoodle, I saw that the weather was supposed to be pants - I'm sure we'll manage image image

A small feeling of envy creeping in here. Have a good time folks.

When I first went to Beth Chatto's garden entry was  50p in an honesty box by the gate.

I shall be taking my brolly again but (again) am confident will only need it for use as a parasol image
