Am I going to have to be the wuss here? Just looked at the forecast again (actually for Beth Chattos - rather than regional) & it's getting worse each time I look!
We now have 90% chance of heavy rain from 4am till midday, followed by 75% chance of thundery showers for the next two hours followed by lighter rain and getting windy. That doesn't sound like too much fun to me ...
If the rest of you would still like to go I'll join you for the excellent company but I might be lingering over my coffee and cake...
It's a bit of a drive for some of us & the roads will probably be yuck. Maybe we should pick a better day when we can actually enjoy the garden?
What do the rest of you think?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I'm a hardy outdoors Guider type who is happy to go with your decision. Esp as I live in Essex and can't drive (ie it's not so far for me and you all will be coming a flair way)
My weather forecasts are showing it's a bit less rainy from 12 till 4ish.
Which forecast are you looking at Panda? - the Met Office forecast for Elmstead Market has heavy rain with a bit of thunder & lightning thrown in from 12 till 2.....

I think the garden covers about 7 acres - that's a lot of ground to cover when it's cat and dogging it. (Or even worse to be at the furthest point out when it really starts hammering down).
I think Snoodle didn't mind postponing as her family arrangements were all getting a bit convoluted so perhaps that's the way to go?

Hmm yes, I was looking at that one Topbird
and the BBC one doesn't look much better .
I don't mind tramping around in the rain, but it does seem a bit silly to visit a garden designed to cope in drought conditions, in the pouring rain - and then travelling home with damp legs etc when the longer term forecast is much better http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/u10xhr69n#?tab=regionalForecast

There is that . . . . but only 50% chance of rain. . . .
I suggest we pull the plug on this adventure for now ... we can always garden if the weather's not so bad
