Hurrah TB, was hoping you'd suggest that one image image

Nut, I understand your envy, but I'm sure your bikers will appreciate you image

A small feeling of envy creeping in here. Have a good time folks.

When I first went to Beth Chatto's garden entry was  50p in an honesty box by the gate.

Given that it now costs a bit more, maybe it's us that should be envious image

Why do I live so far away?  I've always wanted to go there...  image   Have a lovely trip, folks!  Looking forward to the photos...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Panda - I think I've sent you a PM - the link from this page isn't working for me today - but I found a way round the back image

    Hope you get it!

Would anybody like some surplus seeds (more than enough for everyone)  -

white Honesty and the spring flowering purple Thalictrum available.

I've just listened to the BBC weather forecast and checked the Met Office site

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743?day=2

IDon't want to be a wuss and 'm happy to go along with everyone else, but just thought I'd flag it up - there's no reason why we couldn't rearrange for a better day is there?

    What does everyone else think?

  • Ooh, not great.  Rain is one thing but weather warnings another.  Although I have bought the jelly babies now.

I'm no wuss either Dove - but I was thinking the same thing as I was mopping out our garage which was flooded this pm - along with several of our local roads. And it looks as tho' we're just about to get a bit more...image

A deluge like that when we're half way round would not be much fun at all - and it's a long drive to sit in the coffee shop - albeit in excellent company.

I think they're not 100% sure where this weather system is actually going to hit at the moment. Personally, I can leave making a final decision until Sat pm but I appreciate that others have families to consider & may prefer to bite the bullet now.

Has Panda already bought her train ticket...? image

  • Good point about Panda.  I've just PMed her, in case she's intending to buy ticket tonight or something.

Poor you and your garage, TBird!  Hope no damage?

i wouldn't be against postponing. It would indeed be very disappointing to travel all that way only to not see much. And the roads will probably be yuck. Plus, logisics are all getting bit clumsy.  I'm out the night before at step mum in law's birthday and friend has asked if can kip at ours.  Which makes it more awkward if I want to leave to have an early night (would still be a late one for me) and more awkward to turf them out in the morning!
