same here like neutrals for major things, even cushions etc i only like loght colours, nothing bold for me! i'm too thick to copy from ebay sorry, other problem with only liking pale colours-especially flooring-is can i keep it looking good with 2 small children...?
hey, dont be sorry I expect it cant be done anyway.
I was thinking of your two little ones too.
If what you have down now is really ok, why not change another part of the room, say bookshelves (if you have them), reorganise the books, make space for photos or pictures, or new curtains instead of a rug, move a chair...it can be the smallest thing which catches your eye, even if its only you who notice.
Yviestevie, what a transformation to your shed! well done you it does look good against neighbours wooden fence, the colour will show any plants up beautifully.
btw, sorry to read about your grandaugther and very glad she is back home, all best wishes x
rosemummy, just realised having spoken about bold colours should have said as flooring . I see my kitchen tiles as a 'statement' colour, the cupboards are pale with wood trims - almost shaker style, makes for good contrast
When you say the rug you like has impression roses on it, do you mean the really deep pile rugs with the rose shape appearing to be cut out and all one colour?
If yes they are lovely but are I would imagine difficult to keep clean with little ones and also I find the deep pile rugs are hard to place as they create another level, for example if close to a door you can't open it or if going under a unit or table the whole thing has to stand on it or it will wobble. Also girls can't do jigsaws etc
I think the flat weave type rugs are much more stylish and easier to place in a lounge or any downstairs room. The others are lovely in a bedroom
If you like Laura Ashley who do beautiful timeless flat weave rugs but are exspensive so wait till they do their discount periods as top tip never pay full price at Laura Ashley as always have discount times. If too exspensive check out dunelms online as they do really lovely same type rugs but loads cheaper. They are nice though as I have seen and felt in store
Going to use the metal bucket for pots of herbs , and instead of small tables for plant sale will use two old garden chairs by the shed, opened door, tidied inside shed and sorted out tools on shelf in basket - looks ok now.
Concentrating on finishing the lawn edges of new border then will tidy that with bark mulch.
Malvern Autumn Show today, mists cleared, suns out enjoy yor day too.
