I haven't read all posts so apologies if I' m repeating, natural products are best, almond oil and gloves to sleep in should help, natural plant and nut oils are absorbed by your skin more effectively than anything with paraffin which sits on top, that's more effective as barrier
I find Aveeno the best hand cream, its a bit more expensive than some but its really effective on sore, dry over washed hands, I'm paranoid about hand washing and get really sore hands especially in the winter but this is always beside my sink and in my handbag and really does the trick.
Bekkie, I forgot to say why I asked about tomatoes......the reason is that they seem to irritate my hands really badly, the yellow stuff on the stems itches like mad whenever I go near them and my dermatitis flares up I wasn't sure if it was definitely the toms but after only going near the toms a couple if times this week I know that it is So, I thought it might be making your hands worse, but obviously not.
My hands too get in a terrible state, hate wearing gloves but years ago the model Marie Helvin David Bailey the photographers girlfriend said she used sugar and cheap cooking. oil to exfoliate her skin, works a treat been using it for years, hope this is of some help.
Yeah, toms are hairy, i react to that type of thing too, lung wort comfrey etc, when i was little it was my job to take the side shoots off the toms, ewwww - green smelly fingers!
On Wednesday I bought some of my favourite hand cream, W S Robson (Chain Bridge Honey Farm), I buy it at one of my customers and it has sweet almond, jojoba, safflower and oat oils in, honey, beeswax, a few others bits and lavender essential oil, it is lovely and makes my hands so soft
