Salino - not sure if I'm missing something, but can't see 'The Pilgrim' listed.

Sorry image spotted it now....the pic just didn't look like mine.

hi David.... I know, they've got a lot of roses listed but as it's correctly known as The Pilgrim you'll find it under 'T' as they have their 'The's' under T starting with Tess of the d'urbervilles...

...they usually have these in stock...it's one of the best nurseries in the country and I've visited it many times too....they grow their roses in big containers - all good sized plants... Mr Chapman also let's you know what condition the rose is in...whether it's well grown...got black spot... any flowers showing... that sort of thing...before you confirm ordering...

    oops..crossed....that's ok then...

..Champagne Moment is just gorgeous NG.... I can see why you're pleased with it... not a rose I know personally...

  • I spotted 'Shropshire Lad' while I was there.....another beauty! image

yes..that one and Generous Gardener have been on my list along with some others already mentioned, but I have to narrow it down to 2 and I want shorter growing ones this time.... I think that one is a climber...so perhaps not for me right now...

I've been looking at Shropshire Lad also; comes as a climber or (tall) shrub (about 5ft).

That's lovely Bev, I looked at that but went for generous gardener and st swithun, was worried Shropshire Lad may be too peachy and I wanted more pure pink though having seen more pics maybe I was wrong

Hi Rosemummy, I'm also looking at those - and want them all!! But I know I must show restraint... Everytime I look at roses and they different types, my list just keeps getting longer and longer. I think four will be the minimum I'll choose. Wish me luck...

    Hello,

for anyone else living in Kent; I've just come across a place called Rumwood Nurseries (courtesy of Google!) which luckily for me is not far from where I live: http://www.britishroses.co.uk/index.html

I know where I'll be going this week!!!

David, I already mentioned that the DA restaurant had a queue coming out of the door at lunchtime! We did have a hot chocolate when we arrived, but not lunch. Also the B & B did a good breakfast.

I have a Shropshire Lad in a pot and my daughter has A Generous Gardener and St. Swithun. They are all lovely.

My Shropshire Lad in the photos.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
