    image Calm down, Dove!

I like the bar sprinkler made by Gardena. They will cover a nice square or rectangle. I have found the round ones rather impractical.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I have seen a whole new side to Miss Dove today....

...and that won't help you get any work done at all Mr Toast!! image

The sprinkler Busy-Lizzie mentions is the type I was talking about - mine is a Hozelok - but they're probably much the same. I have found that mine will cover an area nearly 20m by 10m when it's on full. And, as BL says, it is a nice rectangle so no dry corners.

The main reason I suggested it is simply because I get VERY bored watering by hand - especially if it has to be done for several weeks - a sprinkler just makes life a bit easier.

Still, NW England - nearly the end of summer - if it's gonna rain anywhere it's likely to be there! Hope you get the rain you need (your neighbours won't be too pleased with your rain dancing though - being a bank holiday!)

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
