    Any ideas?

I found my seed compost must have had seeds in as a few weeds popped up( I dont have that kind of weed in my garden and had to ask on here what it was) not very impressed.

I did wonder if it was the compost, but I've used it elsewhere and not had these pop up anywhere else.

Afraid I can't help with the weed invaders. Fortunately, I didn't have any. Finally passed on my young plants and have 3 left left which I'm sure will be more than enough for our purposes. They now stand at around 10" and when I fashion some protection of the compost against the pesky squirrels I shall be leaving them out overnight. Have been going out every day except when cold and/or windy. Just hope I can get them to grow a bit straighter as some are going off on a bit of a tangent and I don't want them to snap once they start bearing fruit!

Tie them to canes, they will straighten up.

Thanks for the advice purplerallim, will get onto that tomorrow as the middle one is a lot worse than it looks in the photo!
