Pleased with my crop so far. But growth slow over the last three weeks. Anyone got an approximate timeline, in weeks, for when plants may need to go in to final growth pots/bags? Sowed my seeds 1st March for info.
  • Well, my seedlings have come on since I last posted a picture. Now, 25 days after planting seedlings about 3" tall in about 2" of compost. Although the  instructions on the back of the seed packet say to plant out when 10 - 15 cm tall (4-6") I'm wondering whether to pot up now as they look as if they'll be hard to separate without damaging them if I leave much longer....mm...How advanced are your seedlings, Andy?

OH sowed them 26th Feb , poor germination not his favourite variety but they were 'free' he's already potted 2. On into bigger pots growing in the greenhouse seeing how they go. Here's a pic of how big they are today
  • Oo Valleysgirl, they do take a long time, don't they? That's a month before mine and still quite small, but then I've never grown tomatoes from seeds before so maybe that's just normal.

The two in the picture have been potted on once already about 6/7 " tall now, OH has put the others in bigger pots in our greenhouse to see how they go, well we have had some quite warm days so far. Yours look like their ready to move on too me maybe 7cm pots, maybe someone more experienced might have thoughts on this.

Did anyone else have issues with these seeds having something else mixed in with them? I planted the seeds about a month ago I think. I've got some tomato seedlings for sure, but theres quite a number of seedlings which are definitely not tomatoes in there too!
Bonus points if you can tell me what the other seedlings are!

Andy, it depends where you live, mine dont go out until beginning of June, and they would have been hardening off at least 10 days before that.

@siananigans I had really good germination with mine but two plants are definitely not tomatoes 🍅. Will post a photo see if anyone can identify them.
