    POET'S day?

Hello,all--been up for awhile, and the chores are done--think I will have a lazy day today. I have taken up knitting again to keep my hands busy and my mind off food and smoking. I found a pattern for a sweater that is knit on one huge and one small needle, so it goes very quickly.

Love the snowdrop photo--some things like these and daffs and crocus look so fabulous in drifts. And today is the first day of daffodil month!

Reading back, I think it's time you got your mind out of the dark back passage, out of the bins, and off to the garden!!! Or at least cheer up and eat some cake. I've made banana carrot loaf for my friend--she has a sweet tooth, so I iced it and covered it with sprinkles.

She is having a major operation on Monday and they are removing [amongst other things] part of her pancreas-so after that, she will be diabetic--no sweets.Hope she survives until her 90th birthday, which is in July. She's very brave.

In a past life I was a diabetic specialist. Diabetes doesn't mean no sweets, means smart sweets.

Well just had Spag Bol. Went down a treat, as always, with some left over to freeze. image

Madam has decided we are to try and make apple cakes later, so that should be fun! Another baking disaster in the making! imageimage

2nd days filming for next week's GW went well. Cold, grey day but warm bright programme. Lovely VT's, snowdrops, paths, pruning and Nigel.
