There have often been reports of big cats roaming the countryside in the past, one within a few miles of me, but this story seems to be being taken more seriously than any I've heard of before.
How could anyone lose a lion and not know about it.
Good morning to one and all. Pam . I'm so pleased for you - that is one whopper of a flower bud. I will be out inspecting mine soon. As overall winner of the competion, please accept these flowers on behalf of all of us !
It was unusually quiet yesterday - absence of mowers etc - but I assumed that was because many people are away,
Some lions can apparently travel up to 25 miles per night.
I watch Natural History programs, and know that tracking wild animals is dead easy for experts. The BBC Natural History Unit should be consulted. If they can track tigers in the Himalayas, Essex should be a piece of cake. Perhaps Chris Packham and David Attenborough are on the case as we speak.
I love these stories about big cats and think it's possible there could be some living in the wild. It wasn't too long ago anyone could buy a lion cub and I can remember going into a pet shop in Newcastle and there were bear cubs for sale. When the Dangerous Animals Act came in I bet some people thought it was kinder to set their pets free if they couldn't comply with the act.
I hope if it does turn out to be an escaped lion he doesn't get shot.
Good morning all. Quite cold here today. I don't think the sun will be visiting here at all.
I live close to Cannock Chase and Chasewater, where there are regular sighting of big cats apparently. But then again, they also claim to have seen Bigfoot over there as well.
Well we have got quite a hectic week ahead. Both Sister-in-laws are on holiday and we have to water their pots, gardens, see to mail etc.Luckily they both live in the same village about 3 miles from us. We will also be dealing with a cat, though not as large as a lion, thank goodness.. It's a very pampered moggy, shouldn't call it that, it's a ragdoll cat, very beautiful. It has to be let out in the morning and fed and then let in and fed again at night. What a pain! Anyway she has left choccies and wine in the fridge for us, so it's not all bad.
I had an intensive course before she went away on how to set the burglar alarm etc, with my brain I thought it better to take notes just hope I get it right.
So if I'm not back within the next few days you will find me in a darkened room recovering.
