Yes Chris, that's the one, even bigger and better now they have made a lot of improvements there. We only went for ericaceous compost, bit I'm afraid I bought a few plants - now there's a surprise! The tulips look very pretty, good luck with them.
Watching New Tricks too, Jack is leaving! Won't be the same without him.
What a great photo Dan . When we had the bad winter in 2010 , we had a few strutting around the garden picking up the remnants of the fat balls . The funniest thing I ever saw was one of them trying to fly into the tree to get at them. They are not the most gracious of birds in flight !
Yes Dan great photo. We have a pheasant in what was an old orchard behind our garden, now just grubbed up waste land. We can hear it calling and sometimes it sits on the gazebo roof. They are such beautiful birds, but not much good at long flights, it just swoops about.
Morning everyone - Glyn , Chris - I can't believe I missed the Tatoo , I forgot all about it . I'll have to watch it on here on I-player. I'm going to have a good tidy up outside today. The weather was horrific yesterday - heavy rain and driving winds. We actually have sun today so I'm hoping for a better day. Have a good day
The sun is out and it looks like it could be a lovely day.
My plan today is to have another attempt at planting in my front garden, my neighbour planted 3 russian vines on his side of the fence and this seems to drain the soil on my side of all nutrients. I dug a struggling hebe out yesterday and the soil is so dry
Isn't Russian Vine one of these really scary plants, that someone might want to use to cover an unsightly building. Three of them!
The water that any plant sucks up depends on how much foliage it has, hence the dryness. I suppose such plants might have an application - for draining waterlogged areas.

Dan. The Queen certainly didn't look happy that night, lets hope she enjoys the opening of the Paralympics more!
