It was a lovely visit - we'd been staying in the area for a family party so included our visit on the journey home - couldn't stay too long as we had a long-ish journey home after a late night - and I'd also had a call to say that my grown up son was in A&E with concussion having been hit in the face by a ball whilst watching a football match!!! It's the third time he's been concussed this year - how old are they when you can stop worrying about them?
But to return to Castor House gardens - that first bed full of salvias, asters and dahlias (amongst other things) was fabulous, and I did like the very ordered kitchen garden - but it was a shame that the beautifully ripe plums were going un-picked and falling on the ground - they were very tasty I also agreed with Nut that if I'd had such a wonderful watering system, I'd have attempted to cover the hoses with a layer of mulch as is done at East Ruston and Bressingham, rather than have the rather obtrusive hoses snaking so obviously over the beds
Artjak - did you inspect the compost bins?

I'm jolly glad we didn't go to Castor today! It's been tipping it down since this morning
Gorgeous pics thank you for sharing Artjak and glad you had a lovely day
I love the look of all of it, in fact I have all of it envy

I missed those yesterday evening artjak, must have been busy drinking the wine.
I've decided that my gazebo thingy needs to have more in the way of wind protection than that
Some stunning plants though, lovely pics. I need to get that yellow thing IDd, I like to know what everything is
In the sticks near Peterborough
Nut, I would have thought that your lawn, surrounded by trees would be pretty protected from the wind?
Castor Gardens again; a strangely warty tree trunk
Pet cemetary
A stunning tree that we could not identify
The very formal front of the house
I liked the contrast with the foliage here; similar thing was on Beechgrove Garden
Italianate pool
There were several beds of various Penstemons
....and now for the important bit...
gluten free cake...
...and the gang, Art, Dove and Nut
Lovely to put faces to nom de plumes.
