your friend is lucky my three hostas from two years back are just popping throu now i would say about 3mm tall at the min lol. How did you get on with your garlic prob is it sorted now also have you started onyour hosta bed yet.
I have really enjoyed reading these posts - a good friend of mine brought me my first Hosta last year. I was a bit worried as I know the slugs love them however I find I have become quite protective of it and have a real passion for ensuring it's the best it can be! Joy of joys it's just started to spike through the gravel (I was worried that I killed it!) . He has recently given me another 4 which means I now have a collection! Thanks for the tip to ensure that they don't cross over forming a bridge for the slugs - have just been out to move the pots further apart.
Hi Anthony. I'm wading through the wild garlic but it's taking ages. Much longer than I thought. I'm about a quarter of the way through Still got about 20 metres to go. I'll get there though - the thoughts of preparing my hosta corner is keeping me going but I have to be disciplined otherwise there are a lot of new plants going to choke with the garlic. Ha ha, going to work tends to get in the way too.
Hi Tray14. Welcome to the hosta thread and I'm glad that you've enjoyed reading the posts. 5 hostas - you lucky thing. Do you know what they're called? I'm impressed that you've protected them from the slugs. I can feel your joy at seeing the one you planted last year popping through. There's nothing like planting something and then seeing it appear
