Papa Jo - I have referred your queries direct to the Min of Ag & I also contacted my local Ecole d'Horticulture. I do not know if you have a Festival de La Terre in Brittanyas we do in different areas of Normandy in September but the Young Farmers Group last year were full of enthusiasm for trying out alternative farming methods. Re Rustica -I no longer have the Issue but it would have been around the date of my Post.
Thanks for taking the trouble to answer my queries again. Looking forward to replies from the Min. of Agriculture & your local Ecole d'horticulture.
Thanks Obelixx -very good site link -especially in liaison with our happy gang. Clematis was a present minus label unfortunately so can't help you, but it is a 'cracker'. Pansyface please don't give up on us -There appear to be only 2 difficult bods, the rest of us are really nice! Mother Goose I liked the horse photo, takes me back to my showjumping days. How I miss doing the 'circuit' -Don't bounce so well now when I fall off!! When we ran our Livery Yard we used to take on injured racehorses in co-ordination with the local vet. Fascinating work rehabilitating them and in many cases sorting out lousy temperaments. Cider Vinegar was always prescribed for joint problems and Cabbage Leaves stuffed with Bran made excellent poultices.
Making Nettle Oatcakes this afternoon for Farmers Market tomorrow -Have you made the jam yet Gardengirl? -Oh Mother Goose are you Prof Brian Cox in disguise? -I do feel you should be discussing all this with him. Way above my head! -I just know what works for me. -Off to plant those dahlias now. Oh -my Red Cherry Tomatoes grown from seed are much better and stronger in the raised bed than in the greenhouse -Any ideas why?? -Same compost/same date sown/same treatment. -I did add nettle/comfrey & rhubarb 'hooch' last week to raised bed -could it be that. Greenhouse on Seaweed Feed only. Comments welcome. Still finding Rhubarb Maceration has worked brilliantly -no slugs or snails in sight in Salad Bed.
Must go and get those Dahlias in (Plus some Gladioli I found this am in sale -I know it's late but I can't resist a 'deal'!
Happy Gardening! Here is my Bog Garden - Thanks to all Tips on Gardeners World Forum.
Maybe the comfrey BF? They trialled it on Beechgrove a couple of years ago and, much to Jim's astonishment, the toms fed on comfrey did much better than the ones given conventional tomato food. He thought it was a fluke so they did it the following year and got the same results. He's now a convert.
M-G - haven't read all your diatribe cos this is a thread about what works for us and not the whys and wherefores. Interested to see your last sentence tho.

Off to Uk some ungodly hour tomorrow morning so here is the Lunar Calender 25-30th June 2018
25/26th June - Moon descending in Scorpio so Leaf Days. Plant out brassicas sown 11-14th May burying first two leves to help anchor roots. Keep well watered and get ready to fleece up against up and coming cabbage white butterflies who are already floating around my garden.
27/28/29th June- Full Moon 28th with switch to Moon ascending at 3.26pm on 28th. Moon in Sagittarius so Fruit Days. Sow Courgettes outside for harvesting from September. This late sowing is less likely to suffer from milldew so worth the effort. Harvest early tomatoes (That's optimistic!) and Bush Fruit -Had first strawberry last night and beginning to pick raspberries in direct competition with blackbirds.
30th June -No gardening recommended Moon apogee then noued descending -Take a Day Off!
Happy Gardening to all -Catch up again 1st July with Weather Prospects for month.
Thanks BF. Already picked loads of raspberries a couple of weeks ago - so many I turned 3 kilos into coulis.
Have a good trip to the UK. Hope you find everything you need. Haven't been for 2 years now and nothing planned either. Too busy with stuff here and also moving daughter to a new apartment in Belgium. Loads of fun.

Back from UK clutching new Bean Sticks/seed trays/more dahlia tubers and packs of labels all found in the sales -Really chuffed. Also returned with gifts from family in the shape of 2 pots of nemesia and a monkey puzzle tree -That will keep me busy! Luckily greenhouse contenst survived heatwave with more flowers on melons and cucumbers plus fruit coming on tomatoes. All bargain dahlias sprouted well, may get flowers this year with luck! Weather for July is set to be hot with stormy periods in particular between the 7-8th 13-14th 27th 30-31st. There is an eclipse of the sun on the 13th and an eclipse of the moon on the 27th.
Here is the Lunar Calender for 2-13th July
2/3/4th July - Moon ascending in Aquarius so Air sign meaning Flower Days. Sow bi-annuals and perrenials in Nursery Beds. Lupins however should be sown where you hope to grow them permanently as they don't like being moved.
5/6/7th and 8th July up to 11.35am - Moon ascending in Pisces so Leaf Days. Sow Lambs Lettuce where Peas or Broad Beans have been as they appreciate the nitrogen left by the roots of these crops. Sow Chinese Cabbage and Lettuce that will stand well into the first frosts.
8/9th July up to 4.57am - Fruit Days. You can just get away with another sowing of Climbing or Dwarf Beans if you normally have a mild start to Winter. Dwarf Beans would be a safer bet of the 2 as you can cloche them up to extend season.
10/11th July - Moon ascending in Earth sign Taurus so Root Days - So Winter Radish again and Carrots.
12/13th July -New Moon at 3.48am on the 13th Moon descending in Gemini so Flower Days. Take cuttings of Summer Flowering Shrubs like Buddleia and Fuschias. Prick out flowers sown 5-7th June . No gardening before 3pm on the 13th Moon perigee. Take a Break!
14th July - Leaf Day with Moon noeud descending no gardening before 9am. Start blanching Endive.
Obelixx -What would you call Prele in English? I thought it was Marestails but I'm now not too sure - Have just made a huge infusion as growing everywhere here and fertilises really well being rich in silica.
Bio , thanks for update , glad you had a good trip to UK
Got back of hols at Weekend , cant believe weather , fabulous in UK Been to plot last two mornings , all onions , shallots and garlic up and drying Fortunately another plot holder has been watering , the only stressed plants are jureslum artichokes ( not worried about these as there are so many ) and blue berry bushes and they picked loads of strawberries & Rhubard , better than going to waste
Looks like a great year for soft fruits , picked strawberries, gooseberrys red & green and loads of Rasberrys , o/h made some Raspberry jam , looks better than the strawberry 🍓 jam before hols Other berry bushes looking good Going up again tomorrow morning to fill 3 water cubes and 4 water butts , never done as much watering Plants in G/H growing well but not many flowers yet , filled water butts up this afternoon from stream at side of garden Other than grass which looks a bit brown , everything looking good
