Definitely bindweed but smaller leaves and flowers than the one I'm used to and deep pink buds before they open to white flowers Very determined stuff it is.

Hello , Village show went well , entries down on last year for fruit & veg , to be expected during this heat wave O/H did very well and Won the RHS Banksian Medal
Here is the Dandelion Jam Recipe:- Just one point - Make sure you pick dandelions from pesticide free pasture and if from your lawn, be sure no weedkiller has been used within the previous 12mths. Also do not pick from the roadside however healthy they may look. They thrive on polluted air.
200g Dandelion Flowers
750ml Water
Boil for 10 mins then drain flowers add 1Kg White Sugar and Juice of 1 Lemon. Cook for 15mins or until setting point is reached. (You can replace Lemon with a sachet of Pectin.) This recipe will make 3 x 350g jars. Keeps 18mths unopened.
I owe this recipe to some dear German friends so thank you Dani & Alex.
Well done GWRS -O/H I think that is fantastic!!! GWRS you must be so proud, no doubt all gained from your produce on the plot that YOU grew! So a great joint effort.
If any of you are old enough to remember the series 'The Good Life' with Tom & Barbara sharing their first chicken egg, think of us yesterday sharing the first 3 new potatoes and the first 8 Blue Lake French Beans -All yummy! Just picked the first Ridge Cucumber to share tonight. -I love 'the firsts' -Unfortunately Cabbage Whites got through my netting and are in the throws of devouring the Toscana Kale -Robin called upon to help clear the caterpillars -He flew off with 3 in quick succession that I chucked onto the lawn -Not sure if he can manage the other 17!!! -I am furious -tried so hard to protect them and I don't use any sprays so feel defeated.
Thank you for all your kind comments , as ever with gardening some items do well and other not so , in view of the weather so far , Cold beast from the east and now Sahara sun ☀️, it’s not been to bad . Soft fruit have do really well , infact o/h won’t pick , freeze or jam any more berry’s , the birds can have them Bio , have to say I do some times spray cabbages & sprout , caterpillars and white fly , didn’t want to but ! I do remember watching the Good life on TV 📺 Have you heard of Biodynamic Ass , just come across it
Looks like tomatoes 🍅 are suffering in this heat both in g/h and outdoors at allotment Also got white fly on Chillies 🌶 in g/h never happened before , have sprayed and will clean the leaves by hand next week Can’t remember a summer like this , long May it continue , however , sitting in Conservatory at moment and sky has gone black cold this mean proper rain ?
I got fed up with the local weather forecast promising rain and then not delivering so I switched to the version for farmers hoping it would be more accurate. Not really but much more detail about soil temps and air temps and humidity and, at the end, the moon's phase, position and time of rising and setting. Interesting.
Here, just in case, is that other lunar calendar calibrated to Paris time - https://www.rhythmofnature.net/biodynamic-calendar for anyone wanting an easy, at a glance guide. None of BF's Biodynamic detail tho.
