Another good gardening day.  Will plant some more banana shallots and red onions as I know I use so many in my cooking.  I have brought nto the conservatory another six pelargoniums still in flower.  It is getting a bit crowded in there.  I may take the begonias into the garage later to make more room as there are still a lot of plants need bringing indoors.  The garage is brickbuilt and tiled so usually frost free.  As my plan is not to buy any new plants next year to keep in the spirit of Bristol being the Green Capital of Europe I must save all my tender plants.

Time to think about grape harvest.  The pink seedless are unbelievably sweet this year.  The campanula at the feet of the vines are flowering again.

Very dull and drizzly at the moment in Bristol so may do some housework and shopping before the gardening today.  Gardening usually comes fi  rst in my list of priorities.  I may have some more fun doing strange things with my pictures too.  The novelty has not worn off yet.  Picking a sweetcorn cob to eat every day now.  Every seed in the packet I bought has yielded one or two very sweet cobs.  Tried one of my cape gooseberries yesterday but it was rather sour or perhaps my very sweet grapes  are spoiling my palate!

Drizzle or not it is very mild and I have lots of planting to do so it is gardening raincoat and boots time, having done my housework and shopping.  Next week the afternoon will be so short!  Dry evenings I may have a bonfire as there is a lot of dry prunings especially brambles.

I did get some planting and weeding done but only about an hour and a half's work and the heavens opened.  But I have a tibouchina opening its beautiful purple flowers in the conservatory so will now snap it and have fun editing it.  Watch this space.

MY tibouchina has twelve fat buds on it and the first one has opened.

I have put the date on the calendar, Beaus Mum.  Looking forward to it.  I planted some more of the banana shallots i so love to use in my cooking today and did a load of weeding as it was so easy to pull them out.  I had heard that many people were having difficulties with Windows 8 but my son in law assured me I would be fine and I was and now the refrain that comes most often from my lips while I am using it is "Oh, that's clever"!  But Windows 9 is coming out in a few months!!!
