Hmm.  I have had two get to the size of a large grape, eaten them and they were refreshing but that is from nine very large sprawly plants so i do not think i will grow them again unless the hundreds of peasize ones suddenly grow and give me a great crop.  They reached the top of the conservatory before it was struck by lightning but i was already thinking of withdrawing my precious metered water from them.  We will not get better weather than this summer for them so i think i should leave  it to the Mexicans to grow them.  Other members of the Nation of Gardeners are growing them, some outside so if any have rave accounts to report to Mr. fothergill i will let you know, Linda.  I grudge them the room in the conservatory - not at all easy like tomatoes.

  • Ooh thanks Marion. I only have a small greenhouse, so I wouldn't want to use up precious space for only a small return, but do keep me posted!

They are Marion image I would just like to see more bees, I dont think I've got the right plants or maybe not enough of them.

I very much like the deep pink of your hydrangea and see that you have blue salvia in flower, the plant in the foreground has the leaf of campanula but I dont recognise the flower blooms. Like the colours.

Bizzie B and Marion, what lovely photos you both have, your flowers look lovely image, my first poppy seed has germinated image, waiting for quite a few more yet, and my tomato plants are nearly growing through the roof, they've gone mad image, had to order a bigger green house as mine is only 3ft tall.

Went to Hebden Bridge classic care rally, it's a village between Todmodden and Halifax, the market was on too, my husband saw the plant stall and said " ho no not more plants" , so a managed to stop myself from buying any image, it was showers in the morning then sunshine in the afternoon and went very warm too, a lovely day all round image.

Hebden Bridge is often on the telly. flumpy1.  it looks a lovely place.  Stop your tomatoes when you have six trusses of fruit by pinching off the top.  Beautiful day forecast for Bristl again today.  i will fill up the green wheeliebin with bramble prunings as I pick in my bramles for squash.  i made a bottle yesterday.  It is quite delicious .  The blackberries are huge this year with all the rain and very sweet because they have had loads of sunshine too.

Good morning image, thank you  Marion and Flumpy1, it's good to keep a record of whats what in the garden, too easy to forget!.

I always enjoy any holiday in Yorkshire and recall Hebdon Bridge with the surrounding hills, a nice place. Look forward to photos of your tomatoes Fumpy1.

Giving myself a few days away this week to look at local gardens. Not the best weather forecast after today  but, as we know, rain brings freshness to gardens and I have my 'brollyimage
