RB, you get this lens, that blue ring, which is just a covering for a magnet, you put the ring carefully over the lens on your iPad or phone, they give you a few rings so can use on both, then the lens just magnets itself to the ring. You have to take your iPad or phone out of its case, then you get really up close to what you want to take, and, with a very steady hand, click as normal.
there is also a fisheye lens and a wide angle lens, I don't like either, but for around £5.00 it's good value, not to perfection for the pro, but ok for me to play with.
it would be lovely for you as it wouldn't matter if they were upside down, sideways or anyway

Just cropped my previous pic, not sure if it's added or taken away.
Lovely pics everyone.
I like both David
Great fun! You see so much more than with just looking at them, insects are scary!
This is my jumper, it doesn't look at all hairy, I love this lens.
The symmetry of pineapple's pattern is a good subject.
Has anyone else got one of these lens for iPad, also fits mobile phone?
I prefer those skies too David - in this house they're known as 'Simpsons skies'
(Looks like the opening credits of The Simpsons)
I love those macro shots! Mine doesn't get in as tight but I did a few close ups
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Great pics, Fairygirl
Can't remember if the above was a camellia or begonia.
....and this one stayed at home.

I love Macro shots. As Lyn says you see far more than with the naked eye, even with my glasses on
