I bought a Pilgrim Climber earlier this year but it hasn't flowered yet. It was in a 9" pot and looked healthy enough but when I took it out of the pot to plant it next to the Pergola all the soil just fell off and it was plain to see I had a bare root plant that must have been potted up only a couple of days before! I wasn't best pleased at the time but I set it in some John Innes No 3 with a bit of 'Root Grow' (Mycorrhizal fungi) and it has come on well now.
Nice shot, Nikki....a down on your tummy effort. I didn't take any fungi shots this autumn, but they do make good subject matter.
Ann - I have super-macro on my fuji too, I haven't tried it yet. Perhaps worth bearing in mind the the instructios state 'the optical zoom cannot be used & the flash can't be used' when using it.
David i have never used the digital zoom as i was told the picture quality wasnt as good but that was a long time ago now when i had my first digital camera,
have things changed or is it still so, i think i mentioned it had been my brother in laws camera and i have not tried to use it on any thing else but the preset settings

Lovely roses David & John - I can almost smell the perfume from here.
Thanks, Forester.....for those who like macro shots, this is one I took of a begonia:
Hi David,

I know what you mean, John...it's happened to me before now.
These days I only buy bare-rooted. Better plants at half the cost...a no brainer for me.
I wouldn't have minded if I had known but to pay for a bare root plant In a bit of compost @ established plant price was OTT.
Problem was by the time I discovered it we were of course back home and it would have been a 50mile round trip to go back! Grrrr!
Love the macros shots......David the sunflower is amazing!
I love taking shots of mushrooms.....
i have just discovered that this fuji has macro and super macro now to have another play
