Hi Tracey, my mum had iceberg rose, always looked lovely, but was very green fingered and everything seemed to grow well for her.
Loved your birdie pic, how very sweet. One got locked in our shed the other day, he must have wandered in when OH was out there, he went down to the shed the next day (thankfully) opened the door and he was sitting in the trug. Then out he flew.
One year I stepped into GH and looked and looked again Baby sparrow ( quite cross) stuck by it's bum to the yellow fly trap. I'm not good at handling birds but I thought if I left to get gloves and came back it would be twice the shock for it. So had to cover it's face with my thumb and peel it off, leaving a lot of "bottom". Popped it O/s and after a time it went off with adult sparrow, thankfully it was mature enough to fly short distances.
So Iceberg, Golden Jubilee and the Gertrude Jekyll it is then, just one more, a peach one.
I have loved looking through my photos the last few days, I have so many and lots from Southport flower show a few years ago as that was the first year I had my Cannon so was experimenting a lot!!
That's OK David. Could depend on soil or what you feed it on, even the light quality when the photo was taken.
Very kind of you, Lizzie, though I'm still slightly puzzled. I bought my Pilgrim directly from the David Austin nursery during a visit and the picture on the pot was exactly as in my pic i.e. large, double, buttercup yellow blooms. Alas, other pics show it just like yours.
